Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education
We follow a whole-school approach to promoting positive behaviour, mental health, wellbeing, resilience and achievement enabling us to meet the new Relationships Education and Health Education statutory requirements.
At Heycroft, our PSHE provision provides a framework though which key skills, attributes and knowledge can be developed and applied. We provide learning opportunities that include the rights of the child, caring for the environment, economic education, children’s SMSC education and British Values. Adopting a spiral curriculum of recurring themes, there is planned progression across the curriculum so that children are increasingly and appropriately challenged as they move up through the school. We deliver our PSHE and RSE curriculum once a week using a variety of teaching strategies, making sure the lessons are sensitive, age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate and are delivered with reference to the law and in line with our school policy.
